2010 has already been a great year for us!

First off we hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We had a wonderful Christmas, it was so nice to have family here on Christmas Eve and to wake up with my parents here on Christmas morning. We also enjoyed spending New Years Eve at the Red Wings Game and Olympia Club with Bruce and Jenna, then traveling with them to Boston for a week. We are truly blessed to have such great families.

Our best Christmas gift was receiving our completed home study on December 28th along with instructions on how to fill out the I-800a form to send to Immigration. Of course I had the form filled out and ready to send off that night, but as we have learned nothing is that easy. We had to send the forms out UPS with a prepaid return envelope, this meant we had to find a UPS store. After a few phone calls I found one an hour away that would be open on New Years Eve. So on our way to the Red Wings game we stopped off in Port Huron to send off our papers. We also had to send papers to NC to be apostilled (state has to certify the notary's signature and seal). We have to do this with every paper that we are sending overseas that has been notarized. Luckily there is a walk in office in Detroit where we can get this done, that is our next step. Now we have to wait for Immigration to send us an appointment date for our Federal fingerprinting, hopefully in the next month or so. Altogether it should take 90 days for the government to fingerprint us and approve us for adoption from Poland. Then everything gets sent to Poland so they can match us with our little boy.

We have added a special little song to our blog page, we hope you enjoy it.
